How to read your Hybrid Score

The Score tab from top to bottom, and how to use it to decide what to train. Why the score is a harmonic mean rather than an average (strength 74 and engine 50 make 60, not 62), what one more point on each side is worth, the six-way radar and your weakest link, the tier ladder, and your history.

0:00 · The top

This video goes through the score tab from top to bottom and how to use it to decide what to train. At the top is your hybrid score, your tier, and how much the score has moved lately. Under it are your two sides, strength and engine, each both out of 100. Each side says where its numbers came from and the lower side is marked capping your score.

0:18 · How it's worked out

And the score here isn't an average, it's a harmonic mean which pulls the results down towards the lower side. So for instance, with a strength of 74 and an engine of 50, an average would be 62, but your hybrid score would be 60. The first section, move the number, shows what one more point on each side adds to your hybrid score and says in words which side is a better use for your next hour.

0:31 · Move the number

Drag either slider to see what score you'd get, a reset puts them back.

0:43 · Where you stand

Where you stand has the radar which splits you into 6, upper strength, lower strength, VO2 max, stamina, speed, and grind. Under it, it names your weakest link. Below that is a tier ladder from initiate to titan showing where you are.

0:56 · Over time

Over time, shows how your score has changed over time. And ask Atlas why, near the top, opens up Atlas with a question about your score already written. Strength uses your best squat, deadlift, and overhead press measured against your body weight. Your engine uses your watch's VO2 max or a recent hard run or ride from the last 90 days and so it drops if you stop. The sources behind the grading are at hybridaf.app/science. The next video covers the today tab.
